Chateau Herálec had its success already written in the cards. The castle is a national cultural monument, one of the most beautiful chateaux and one of the most charming romantic buildings in Bohemia. Although the historic building is from its 12th-century origin, thanks to the complex monumental and architectural reconstruction, it fully meets the requirements of a modern guest of the 21st century. The scenographic, so-called gallery concept, which was applied in the interiors of the chateau premises and individual rooms, is quite unique and has no comparison in the world at that time.

The rooms are named after historical paintings from the collections of the Vysočina Regional Gallery, whose replicas have found unconventional use in the interior of the rooms and the furniture. The original paintings of the gallery were kindly donated by Chateau Herálec so you can see them in the public areas of the castle. Our carefully assembled PILLOW MENU, included in the price of your accommodation – hence free of charge, is definitely another TOP thing about our resort. We know how important a good night sleep is, which is why we have dedicated so much time and effort into choosing the perfect mattresses and pillows to accommodate our guests’ every need. You can select from duck feather pillows of various strength and size, anti-allergic pillows as well as anatomic pillows. The castle is surrounded by a beautiful revitalized English park from the 18th century that will charm you at first sight with its majestic large trees. The birds, active from a very early morning hour nest exclusively in the hollows of our oldest trees. It is truly a wonderful sight and concert of sounds. Unique in a true sense of the word, our consecrated chapel of St. Anne with beautiful historical frescos dating back to the 18th century can be found on the second floor of the castle. A monk from Prague by the name of Frantisek Siardus Nosecký is the author of the frescos, his artwork visible not only in the Heralec chapel but the Zeliv monastery as well. The majestic area is perfect for our religious guests to pray, ponder and meditate in, as well as for religious ceremonies (weddings, christenings). It will no doubt please both the eye and the soul of each of its visitors.

Beautiful light emanates through the chapel thanks to restored stained glass windows. The old refurbished doors with new tin fastenings will no doubt also catch your eye. However, a beautiful hanging cross from the artistic workshop of David Szalaye is no doubt a dominant feature of the chapel.

The unique collection of French wines from the Bordeaux region is also one of the largest collections of this type in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. You can choose from more than 100 French castles and chateaux. There are not only classical Bordeaux collections – Saint Emilion, Pomerol, Pauillac, Pessac-Leognan, Margaux, Saint Julien, Saint Estephe – but also satellite areas such as Cotes de Bourg and Cotes de Castilion. All this from the years 1990 to 2013. All wine lovers are sure to come to visit them … There is also a selection of our cigars, which you can enjoy in the lingerie of Oldřich z Říčan.

On the UNESCO World Heritage List, the Vysočina Region has several of them listed here – the historic center of Telč, the Jewish quarter in Třebíč or the pilgrim Church of St. Jan Nepomucký on the Green Mountain in Žďár nad Sázavou.

And finally, the cherry on top is the nature that is located in Vysočina. Here you will find clean air, healthy Vysočina water and also, a “pitch black darkness”.
